Kind Transparency’s Debut: Lessons Learned, Updates, and What’s Next

The big day has arrived - And I couldn't be more excited!

Well, friends, it’s finally here! Kind Transparency is officially out in the world, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. It’s been a labor of love, late nights, endless cups of coffee, and more than a few “Are we there yet?” moments. But seeing it live on Amazon? That makes it all worth it. Holding that finished product in my hands felt like one of those movie scenes where the sun bursts through the clouds—cue the dramatic soundtrack!

But, There were a few tweaks

Look, I’m a perfectionist, but even after all the editing, reviewing, and double-checking, a few small errors slipped through the cracks. Oops! If you already have the eBook version, make sure you head back to your library and download the updated version—those little glitches have been fixed! One of the beauties of the digital age, right? Quick updates and easy fixes. But, hey, the physical book will always have that “first edition quirks” charm. You know, like a collector’s item!

The formatting rollercoaster:

Okay, let’s talk formatting, because wow, I didn’t know what I was signing up for. For those of you who haven’t had the joy (read: nightmare) of self-publishing, the ebook and print formatting processes are completely different beasts. It’s like trying to tame a lion with one hand while juggling flaming torches with the other. And the tools? Well, let’s just say there isn’t a magic wand that does it all. I tried everything from fancy software to good old-fashioned manual adjustments, and guess what? It’s still a process that makes you want to throw your laptop out the window at least twice a week.

Ebook vs. print: A Tale of two formats

The digital version? It’s all about those fluid layouts. Making sure it looks good on a Kindle, an iPhone, an Android, or whatever device people use to read these days—it’s like trying to design a room that looks good with every furniture configuration. And the print version? Oh, that’s a whole other story. Suddenly, margins matter way more than you ever thought possible, and the slightest shift in spacing can make your chapter titles dance around the page. It’s a lot, but in a weird way, it’s also kind of fascinating. (Okay, maybe I’ve just lost my mind a little.)

Getting the Book on Other Retailers: A Game of Patience

While Kind Transparency is live on Amazon, I’m working on expanding its reach to other platforms. And let me tell you, each retailer has its own hoops to jump through. It’s like trying to solve a puzzle where every piece is shaped just a little differently. Why can’t they all just get along and use the same process? Who knows! But I’m doing my best to navigate it all, and I hope to have Kind Transparency available in more places soon. (I'm coming for you Barnes & Noble!) Stay tuned, because this is just the beginning!

Lessons Learned: The Struggle is Real, and I’m Sharing It

Honestly, this whole process has taught me more than I could’ve ever expected, and it’s made me realize just how much goes on behind the scenes that no one talks about. So, I’ve decided that in upcoming blog posts, I’ll be pulling back the curtain a bit more. I’m going to share some of the things I’ve learned along the way, from formatting headaches to distribution tips to what happens when Amazon doesn’t love your cover design. Hopefully, I can save some future authors a few gray hairs—or at least provide a good laugh.

Your Feedback Means the World—Please Leave A Review!

Here’s where I need your help. If you’ve already read Kind Transparency, I would love to hear your thoughts! Please, leave a review on Amazon (or Goodreads if you’re into that). Let me know what resonated with you, what you want to see more of, or even what you think could be better. Your feedback will help shape the next books in the series, and yes, there will be more! And hey, if you loved it, tell a friend! Let’s get the message of Kind Transparency out there, one honest conversation at a time.

What’s Next? Hint: It’s Just the Beginning

This is just the start. The journey of Kind Transparency doesn’t end with the book being live; it’s about building a community, sharing insights, and keeping the conversation going. I’m so excited to continue this journey with all of you, and I can’t wait to see where it leads. Keep an eye out for those future blog posts, and let’s keep this Kind Transparency movement alive.

Thanks for being on this wild ride with me. It’s been a crazy adventure, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Now, go re-download that ebook, leave a review, and let’s keep spreading the word!
